This piece was written on a sunny Sunday afternoon in May 1999, inspired by the impressionist styles of Debussy and Satie.
Ideally the composition should be performed on a piano with the middle sostenuto pedal so that the pedal (or long low) notes can be held on whilst keeping the movement above clear.
The performance below (YouTube link) was played by Helen Ellison on a digital kawai piano using the sostenuto pedal.
